June 2026 Minutes

MINUTES OF WILSFORD PARISH COUNCIL MEETING HELD ON 9 JUNE 2026 TUESDAY AT 7.00PM IN THE SMALL ROOM OF THE VILLAGE HALL.

County Cllr Whitaker, District Cllr Haque and David Rhodes Parish Clerk, Denise Gascoigne (outgoing clerk)

The meeting began at 7.15pm

 

1.Chair’s Welcome

The Chair Cllr Sirs welcomed everyone to the meeting.

 

2.Apologies for Absence  Cllrs Miller and Reseigh

 

3.Declarations of Interest None

 

4.To approve and accept as a true record the notes of the meeting held 12 May 2026.   It was proposed, seconded and

Resolved to accept as a true record the minutes of the meeting held on, and these were signed by the Chair.

 

5.Reports from
 

County Cllr Whitaker – Grantham Road, Sleaford resurfacing is starting 13 July 2026, expected to last 12/14 weeks, the committee was made awake of carers week, information is to be posted on the village hall notice board

District Cllr Hagues –  distributed to councillors

 

6.Chair Report

a. Update of Highway issues, pressure will continue regarding speeding issues
b. Defibrillator, the issue of training open to the public on the defibrillator was considered, if the right opportunity arose
c. Ivy blocking street light in The Cresent, investigation as to the best way forward to resolve the issue

 

7.Reports from Outside Bodies

a. Allotments – water supply is seasonally low, it was noted that the new water pump had yet to be fitted so that water can be drawn from the beck. It was agreed to support funding if the Allotment Committee should decide to investigate possible grants for an on-grid water supply
 

b. Biodiversity –  A question was raised as to whether all bulb planted had been successfully established

c. Cemetery – Nothing to report

d. CLT –  an update of the installation of solar panels etc was discussed

e. Playing Field -  The situation regarding dog mess to be reviewed

f. St Mary’s Church – Nothing to report

g. Village Hall – A recent AGM was successful and new vice chair appointed, new crockery has been purchased

h. Handyman – Report was passed around to the councillors

                                                                                               

8.Parish Clerk Update

a. The clerk asked for pre approved funding from the council so that necessary training could be undertaken. It was propose second and resolve  that funding up to £500 should be set aside for this purpose with the budget being amended.
b. Register of Interest Forms, forwarded and kept on file

 

9.Correspondence

a. Community Resilence Newsletter -– circulated to all Cllrs.
b. NKDC May Newsletter -– circulated to all Cllrs.
c. LCC Town and County Newsletter -– circulated to all Cllrs.
d. NKDC Forum 10am – Chair to investigate attending

e. Fields in Trust Newsletter -– circulated to all Cllrs.

a. The Bank Reconciliations and Cashbook to 31 May 2026 had been circulated to all Cllrs. It was proposed, seconded and

Resolved to accept the Bank Reconciliations and Cashbook to 31 May 2026 and these were signed by the Chair.

 

b. The Approval List for Staff BACS Payments had been circulated to all Cllrs. It was proposed, seconded and

Resolved to accept the Approval List for Staff BACS Payments amounting to £628.05      and authorise the Clerk to make the payments.

 

c. The Approval List for BACS Payments had been circulated to all Cllrs. It was proposed, seconded and

Resolved to accept the Approval List for BACS Payments and authorise the Clerk to make the following payments.

d. The former Clerk confirmed the Certificate of Exemption had been sent and acknowledged by PKF Littlejohn, propose second and resolved

15.Date of Next

a. The date of the next meeting was confirmed as 14 July 2026  in the small room of the village hall.
